For the 5th consecutive year Dunwoody College will be hosting free Saturday FIRST Robotics training sessions.  This is a great opportunity for FRC team members to learn more about electricity, electronics, CAD design, mechanical skills, LabVIEW programming and industrial robotics.

Seminar Descriptions

Basic Electricity & Electronics – Upon completion of this seminar, students will be able to describe and build simple circuits, utilize meters to test for shorts/opens and make proper electrical terminations.

Shop Skills & Hand Tools – Upon completion of this seminar, students will be able to utilize various hand and shop tools to cut, file, drill and tap different materials used in the build process.

Industrial Robotics – Upon completion of this seminar, students will be able to describe how robots are used in the real-world. Students will be exposed to Fanuc 200i industrial robots and program simple instructions using the R-J3 Controller and teach pendant.

LabVIEW Programming – Upon completion of this seminar, students will be able to utilize both the front panel and block diagram to create basic LabVIEW VIs. Students will be exposed to data types, Boolean functions, loops, math functions and compare instructions.

Solidworks Design – Upon completion of this seminar, students will be able to perform 2D sketches using Solidworks, fully dimension these sketches and extrude and cut simple 3D features.
