Email Blast Feb 6 2013 MN FIRST Season Update and Events

Team leaders, two weeks to lockup.  Please review the Bag & Tag requirements in the game manual to make sure that you follow the rules.  Please let us know if you’re having trouble getting your robot running.

Food and beverage policy: All the MN regional competition venues (the DECC, Williams Arena, and Mariucci Arena) have vendor contracts that prohibit the public from bringing their own food and drinks to an event held in those buildings.  Violation of this policy is our number one headache at the Minnesota regional competitions.  This rule applies to teams and spectators.  Your cooperation in getting this message out to your team and all the spectators is greatly appreciated.

Ultimate Ascent practice field: St. Peter, Team 3018 Nordic Storm, would like to host any teams between now and Feb 19th for practice. Their full sized field is available to any MN team needing practice driving, shooting, or climbing.  They practice every night 6-9 PM and can arrange weekend times as needed.  Please contact Deb Johnson djohnso@gustavus.edu.

Pre-lockup scrimmages: The pre-lockup scrimmages are filling fast.  Eagan is full so please direct your entries to St. Peter, Itasca, or Simley HS.  See contact info at (http://www.mnfirst.org/offseason/preregional).

STEM Career Fair: The Eagan HS, Team 2220 BlueTwilight, is hosting a STEM Career Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 6 pm-– 8 pm at the Eagan High School Cafeteria. They have 70+ engineers, programmers and variety of other technical professionals signed up to present/visit with students.  This STEM Career Fair is open to all area high school students but especially all FIRST team members.  Link to event information: http://team2220.org/events/upcoming-and-past-events/stem-career-fair/
