2016 MN FIRST Press Release

The Minnesota FIRST Regional Planning Committee would like to formally thank the more than 500 Volunteers, Judges, and Key Volunteers who combined their efforts to make the 2016 Minnesota-based FIRST Robotics Competition Regional events successful for the 246 Teams competing! No FIRST event is possible without our dedicated volunteers!

Of our 208 Minnesota FRC Teams, we are proud to send 22Teams to the World Championships in St. Louis, MO. These include wildcard winners and four Minnesota Chairman’s Award Winners: Teams 2052-KnightKrawler; 2220-Blue Twilight; 2526-Crimson, and 4607-CIS.  To the Minnesota Teams on the waitlist for the Championship event, we hope you accept and we know our ranks will grow in St. Louis!

The Minnesota FIRST RPC wishes to recognize the tremendous dedication, passion, and spirited opinions currently being shared in-person and via the Internet about the future of FIRST in Minnesota. We realize that any future reorganization efforts, including the option of a future District model, require an incredible amount of discussion and planning to make sure it serves the teams of Minnesota in the best way possible, while mitigating the pressure on our current resources.

We appreciate all of the input, and we want to acknowledge publicly that all voices are being heard. Your thoughts about our future are important. We remain open and ready to listen. Please feel free to direct any future suggestions or questions to markl56821@aol.com.
